Conning’s European-based asset management services are available through our London affiliate. This international operation provides asset management services for European institutional clients, including fixed income portfolio management, international business development, relationship management, and origination.
Conning can provide investment solutions for multinational clients based in the U.S., the London market, Bermuda, Continental Europe, and elsewhere. These solutions are designed to serve clients whose liabilities or business operations originate in different jurisdictions or are denominated in non-U.S. dollar currencies. For these clients, we work to develop a comprehensive investment strategy that considers multicurrency approaches along with specific service requirements.
United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI)
At Conning, we believe that environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practices can affect portfolio performance and are necessary considerations for responsible investing. We focus attention on ESG factors at the level of bottom-up analysis, where determining the sustainability of the issuer’s business model is paramount. Companies that have questionable business practices or corporate governance, by their very nature, do not have a sustainable business model over the long term.
Conning became a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment in April of 2012. We are now working to more formally incorporate these principles, where appropriate and consistent with our responsibilities as a fiduciary, into our investment process.
