Mark Konyn

Mark Konyn is the CEO of CCAM and has a long career in asset management in Asia spanning the last 22 years. He is considered one of the industry's leading figures having managed businesses in both the institutional and retail segments. At CCAM he is responsible for all of the Group's investment business in the region and takes a lead role in providing advisory support for clients. He has been based in Hong Kong since 1989, having begun his career in London as a quantitative analyst for the UK's largest institutional investor at that time, Prudential Portfolio Managers. Prior to joining CCAM, Mark was the CEO of RCM, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz where he worked for 14 years and built their presence in the region, establishing RCM as a leading provider in many markets. Mark has a First Class (Hons.) degree in Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Risk Analysis. He was a research fellow at University College London and holds a Diploma in Investment Management from the London Business School. Mark is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and is a member of the FT-Actuaries Global Policy Committee.

Russell Büsst

Russell Büsst is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for Conning’s European operations. Mr. Büsst was most recently Chief Executive of Amundi’s UK subsidiary and Head of UK Institutional Fixed Income within the London-based Global Fixed Income Team where he and his team managed assets for a broad range of UK, US, Bermudian and European insurance market clients, developing a dominant position in the Lloyd’s and other markets. Mr. Büsst previously served as Portfolio Manager for Premium Management Limited. He holds a Degree in Engineering and the Securities Industry Diploma.

Woody E. Bradford

Woody E. Bradford, CFA, is President and Chief Executive Officer at Conning. Prior to joining Conning in 2010, Mr. Bradford was an Operating Partner with Advent International, a global private equity firm. Previously, he spent 12 years at Putnam Investments where he had multiple roles, including Head of Corporate Development and Chief Operating Officer of Global Distribution. Mr. Bradford is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and of the Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar. Mr. Bradford is a member of the Supervisory Board of Quoniam Asset Management GmbH and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Joseph Mayo

Joseph Mayo is a Managing Director and Head of Credit Research, where he is primarily responsible for investment grade and high yield corporate credit research. Prior to joining Conning in 2000, Mr. Mayo was employed as senior credit officer with New England Capital Corporation and a credit analyst with Society for Savings. Mr. Mayo is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Political Science and earned an MBA in Investment Finance from the University of Hartford.

Sherry Manetta

Sherry Manetta, CPA, is a Managing Director at Conning and is Head of Strategy and Operations for Conning's Risk & Capital Management Solutions business. Prior to joining Conning in 2007, Ms. Manetta was a senior strategy and business transformation consultant to global insurance and financial services companies and has held senior management positions in the insurance industry, including Chief Information Officer of The Phoenix Companies, CFO and head of planning for Aetna’s health business, and CFO, head of planning and operations of Aetna’s large case pension business. She was also CEO and CFO of a start-up specialty managed care company and an audit and consulting Partner with Ernst & Young. She is a graduate of Misericordia University with a degree in Mathematics and earned an MBA from Indiana University.

Rich Sega

Richard L. Sega

Richard L. Sega, FSA, MAAA, is a Managing Director and the Chief Investment Officer, where he is responsible for portfolio management and trading. Mr. Sega was President and CEO of Charter Oak Capital Management, Inc. prior to the firm being acquired by Conning in 2000. He is a graduate of Fordham University with a degree in Mathematics and earned an MA in Statistics from Columbia University. Mr. Sega is a member of the CFA Institute.

Stephan Christiansen

Stephan Christiansen, FCAS, MAAA, is a Managing Director and head of Insurance Research at Conning, where he is responsible for managing all aspects of Conning’s insurance research and publications business. Previously, Mr. Christiansen was a Senior Partner with Conning Capital Partners, a private equity business of Conning. Prior to joining Conning in 1986, he held senior actuarial, strategic planning and product management roles with Colonial Penn Insurance Group and Insurance Company of North America. Mr. Christiansen is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Mathematics.

Scott Hawkins

Scott Hawkins

Scott Hawkins is a Vice President at Conning where he is responsible for producing research and strategic studies related to the life and retirement insurance industry. Mr. Hawkins has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Conning in 2006, he was Senior Research Fellow for Networks Financial Institute at Indiana State University, where he focused on developing the Institute’s strategic research agenda. Before that, he spent 16 years with Skandia Insurance Group in the US and Sweden as an analyst and senior researcher. His responsibilities were advising the Group CEO about emerging strategic issues impacting financial services, as well as managing Skandia’s research projects with the European Commission. He studied history at Yale, has a Certificate in Information Management Systems from Columbia University and was a board member of the J. M. Huber Institute for Learning in Organizations at Teacher’s College.
